Again!  Cooler than avg but on/off rain, a couple stormy days in a row, cool nights, a hot spell of 3 days, then cold again…and windy days. Rules seem not apply other than one, the elms with birch bark indicating – also found many in grassy/mossy spots – some under pines and prickly ash near troubled elms….we netted over 14 lbs so far in 6 times out – I learned a new method: Revisit the same spot 3 different days, you won't believe how many you missed, how many more will pop – how many maybe you stepped on or kicked over. don't go for a walk, stand and spot, then close in – good luck! it is a blessed year for the elusive morel.
